for everyone

I do not know what "charisma" the small woman has that up to now, she seem to have a very firm grip on the power of the presidency. What I mean is, WHY the hell is she still inside the palace of Malacanang despite all the coup attempts, unimaginable scandals involving her and her family, people power revolutions and election fraud controversies? What is in her? What "magic" does she possess?? Who is behind her???

Corrupt and powerful leaders like Marcos and Estrada had their asses kicked out by power of the Filipino people but why can't we oust a family of crocodiles with bottomless hunger for money and wealth, people power and all? The Catholic church can't do anything, the Makati Business Club can't either. Why?

Incredible! Unbelievable! Astronomical!

Probably what is lacking is the true desire of the whole nation to be free from tyranny and corruption. What we want is what we get and we deserve it. To hell with "People Power Fatigue" which is becoming to be the great escape of millions of apathetic Filipinos who just want to wait for GMA's term to expire.

I reckon the time is now, 2 years is still 2 years and who knows how much they can still steal in that span of time... For all we know they can sell the whole of Mindanao or Palawan perhaps and pocket all the proceeds of the sale! Stand up for our rights! Blog for her RESIGNATION! Pray for the country and the good people who care.

There is still STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Peace.

Whatever it is, it is NOT charisma. The magic is simple. She's a very good political strategist. Not surprising, JDV was a long time mentor. And in most political stories, the mentee almost always outsmarts the mentor. Her secret is not so secret either. Who toppled Marcos and Estrada? It was not People Power nor the Filipino people, but the powerful generals. They were the ones who installed and are what keeping GMA in power. Ever wonder who is the fattest crocodile in her cabinet? Check out the retired general in the cabinet. His department is in the middle of this biggest controversy (and some more), and yet he seems untouchable.

Truth be told, the "true desire" of the Filipino people has never been the defining factor. At best, our "true desire" and habitual "people power" mood can only act as catalysts to stir things up a bit but always fall short of our expectations dahil sa totoo lang, wala naman talagang People Power. Ang Pinoy, likas na usisero. Ke hold-up, kudeta, road mishaps, political rally, hostage taking, billboard suicides, lahat yan pupuntahan. Voila, people power na!

Every 3 or 6 years, we are expected to display our people power at the poll centers and yet we elect the crooks and the crocs. What good does it do to throw them out through massive mob gatherings. May papalit din, mas buwaya pa.

Yong mga friends ko na big believer ng People Power, some of them were even present in one or two of them, lahat nasa labas na ng bansa. Siguro that's another form of people power.

Another form of people power is to just keep on surviving the present times. Parang walang ginagawa, pero imposibleng wala.

Si JDV, tapos na maliligayang araw niya. GMA is heading that way. They say it took the Filipinos 20 years to topple Marcos down. Pagdating kay Estrada, he didn't even finish his term. What is another 2 years? I would rather sit out the next 2 years if it means we will not end up with another Arroyo for the next 9 years. I say we should be even more level-headed these days, rather than letting our usual knee-jerk and hot-head reactions prevail.

If you ask most people who have lived through the last 6 presidents, they would tell you the Marcos time was the easiest and most progressive. It's an empirically proven fact.

Cheers!

thanks for the comment! i really appreciate it.

i know gma still has the support of many of her generals (not all) but if the filipino nation will cease to support the government, these officers and gentlemen (if they really are) will soon realize that enough is enough. after all i think they all swore to uphold and defend the constitution and the filipino people. i know that deep inside many of them, they still adhere to the principles they learned from the military academy.

i think jim paredes migrated here because of personal reasons, not because of his disgust with the government as many people think. he already explained it a thousand times in his blogs and to the media as well.

elections???? do you think we still have credible elections in the philippines? i do not think so. kahit barangay elections nga lang eh may dayaan pa, local and national levels pa kaya? so im not so sure if majority of filipinos really elected these crocs, for all we know, luto na lahat ang mga mananalo sa eleksyon bago pa lang mag halalan.

as i have said... 2 years is still two years, matagal tagal pa din yun. marami-rami pa din makukurakot at mananakaw sa panahon na yun, don't you think?

many will ask "sino naman ang ipapalit?" well i think the philippines still abounds with credible, honest and worthy people that could lead the nation past poverty, graft and corruption. im sure meron pa din.

the nation had suffered enough and i reckon the reactions of majority of filipinos are not knee-jerk and hot head reactions as you perceive it to be. i've lived through the last 6 presidents and i absolutely agree with you that we are all better off during the time of marcos.

ta!

hi everyone

please allow me to be Anonymous mala unggoy kasi yung galamay ni gloria for my own security narin. isa rin ako sa mga Blogswarms :)

ang ombudsman pinatawag si FG for a hearing tapos si FG sabi di sya maka appear for health reasons, diba?

merceditas = ombudsman

so what's the catch?

to protect FG. pero akala nang taong bayan, the ombudsman was just doing her job

pinapatagal nila. buying time...

it was a political manuever ni merceditas to protect her boss

akala nang taong bayan, the ombudsman was just doing her job
